ARBS is an auto-battling roguelike where the whole game is won or lost at the build screen. You assemble a hero, press go, and watch your build carve through — or crumble in — a 30-floor dungeon. There's no micromanaging the fight: your job is to engineer the build, then find out if it actually works.

βš™οΈ How it works

Build β†’ press go β†’ spectate. Your character auto-explores the dungeon on its own — clearing rooms, opening chests, fighting what it finds, and taking the stairs down. Combat is turn-based and fully automatic: the AI plays your skills by the priorities you set, so every run is a test of the system you designed, not your reflexes.

Every run is one identity stacked from a handful of choices:

  • Class — Nine classes, each with a signature mechanic and its own skill tree. A Scrap Knight banks Guard and punishes attackers with counters; a Chrome Reaper stacks venom and detonates it; a Technomancer turns the floor into a kill-zone.
  • Race — Your bloodline grants an element (fire, ice, lightning, nature, corrosion, or light) that procs in combat, plus stat leanings that shape your playstyle.
  • Deity — Swear to a patron for a covenant that fires throughout the run, bending the rules in your favor (and sometimes against you).
  • Skills & Gear — Spend points down a prerequisite skill tree built on resource generators and spenders, set your skill-use priorities, and kit out five equipment slots with passives from Common to Legendary.
  • Subclass — At floor 11, fuse a second class's mechanic and tree into your own for build-defining combos.

Thirty floors. Three boss gates (10, 20, 30), culminating in a forced showdown with The Convergence — a towering, tile-crushing final boss. Loot deepens as you descend: material tiers climb floor by floor, and the right passives hand you the synergies that make or break a run.

πŸ’€ Synergy or death

ARBS doesn't carry weak builds. Sustain comes from mitigation and kills, not endless healing; greedy plans get punished; and a build that doesn't click simply won't reach the end. The payoff is the discovery — the moment your class, element, covenant, skills, and passives lock into a machine that runs itself all the way down.

⚠️ Early Development Build

ARBS is a work in progress, not a finished game. The core build-and-battle loop is fully playable, but this is an early build — expect rough edges, missing pieces, and things that will change.

Not in yet / on the roadmap:

  • 🎨 Visuals & polish — minimal/placeholder art and effects; a proper visual pass is coming
